Q1 2021 Interactive Story Games Performance in Latin America

In the first quarter of 2021, the Latin American market witnessed interesting trends in the interactive story games category. Data from Sensor Tower highlights the performance of the top five applications in this genre, providing valuable insights into user engagement and popularity.

Chapters: Interactive Stories by Crazy Maple Studio observed a decrease in both downloads and weekly active users (WAUs), starting from 140K downloads and 585K WAUs in the last week of December 2020 to approximately 81K downloads and 458K WAUs by the end of March 2021. Revenue also saw a declining trend from 79K USD to approximately 59K USD in the same period.

Time Princess: Dreamtopia, published by IGG.COM, experienced a spike in downloads in January, reaching a peak of 245K, before settling down to 60K by the end of the quarter. WAUs peaked at 277K in February and remained relatively stable, ending the quarter with around 260K. Revenue showed a fluctuating pattern but ended slightly higher, from 13K USD to 16K USD.

Gameloft's Journeys: Romance Stories saw an upward trend in downloads, peaking at 171K in mid-February, then declining to 98K by the end of March. WAUs reached their highest at 581K in late February, before dropping to 422K. Revenue showed a general uptrend in the quarter, from approximately 9K USD to 22K USD, although it decreased to around 13K USD by the quarter's end.

Episode - Choose Your Story by Episode Interactive experienced a significant decrease in downloads from 457K to 175K, while WAUs decreased from 1.1M to 844K. Despite these decreases, revenue showed a slight increase from the beginning of the quarter, starting at 23K USD and ending at around 10K USD.

Lastly, Romance Fate: Story Games by HIGGS TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED, saw an increase in downloads from 18K to 26K and a rise in WAUs from 47K to 49K. Revenue, however, displayed a downward trend from 11K USD to approximately 8K USD.
